Our Story

IMG_9679.jpg

Seasonal produce, locally sourced, and slow-fermented handmade bread and baked goods.

The Leys is an artisan bakery and café housed in a beautiful former cow shed in the village of South Wheatley in rural North Nottinghamshire. We sell slow-fermented sourdough bread and baked goods and serve a changing seasonal menu of breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee and cake. We use the best quality ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible. Our fruit, for example, comes from Goacher's and our meat from Westlands Farm Shop. 'The Leys' is the name of the land that the villages of North and South Wheatley sit on and the bakery and café are inspired by the rural nature of the surrounding area. Our menu changes week by week to reflect the changing seasons and make use of the very best produce nature offers us.

The Leys is a family-run business and family and community are at the heart of what we want to do.
